Salon 2011 + Holiday Art Walk!

Join us for our final opening reception event until April 2012! The gallery will not observe business hours January - March while we complete some renovations and prepare for the 2012 exhibition season. We have been busy searching for the best artists for our 2012 season, and we are excited to spend the winter months preparing for our best year yet!
We hope you will join us THIS Friday, December 2nd, for the opening of our newest and final exhibition of the year: Salon 2011. The exhibition will feature a selection of the finest photo-based artworks from the 2011 show season at Castell Photography. The Asheville Downtown Gallery Association will host it’s first Holiday Art Walk on Friday, December 2nd, which will coincide with the Salon 2011 opening reception.

The show will not only represent a breadth of artistic mediums, photographic methods, styles, and concepts, but will also accommodate a range of budgets. Attendees will see everything from unframed prints to large-scale, elegantly framed works at the December 2nd opening.
This show will also be an opportunity for patrons to purchase works from past exhibitions that they have been unable to forget since the work came down, or view artists that may have been missed. Favorites from the year such as featured April artist Kryzysztof Wladyka, a young up and coming photographer from Poland, Julie Sims, a Georgia photographer who exhibited striking staged works, both vivid and eerie, as well as Lauren Semivan’s stunning staged works, among others, are sure to elicit a response from newcomers and returning clients alike.
Featured artists include: Honour Hiers, Wanrudee Buranakorn, Kryzysztof Wladyka, Neil Loughlin, Gary Geboy, Kenneth Jackson, Julie Sims, Lauren Semivan, Rebecca Drolen, and Timothy Pakron
